We are very excited to announce that one of the pioneers of MSK Ultrasound, Stephen Bird, will be coming to our training facility for two seperate masterclasses!

This is a rare opportunity to learn from Stephen Bird, one of the world’s most renowned sonographers, Stephen brings over 30 years of clinical experience in both musculoskeletal and general ultrasound. His profound anatomical knowledge, exceptional understanding of pathology, and unparalleled ability to correlate pathology on ultrasound make his teachings invaluable. This masterclass promises to be an unmissable event for ultrasound professionals.

Target group

This course is aimed at the more experienced clinicians and sonographers, though for beginners there will be lots to pick up from his lectures and demonstrations. 

Objectives 

The goal of this course is to broaden your knowledge of sono-anatomy, pathology, scanning skills and clinical reasoning around your scanning. 

Contents 

To optimize our limited time with Stephen we decided to take out the hands-on sessions. Stephen will discuss several topics and combine them with live demonstrations.

The schedule of the day is as follows:

Ankle and midfoot joint assessment including the sinus tarsi.

10:00 – 11:00
Detailed assessment of traumatic ankle injuries including predictable patterns of energy release.

11:00 – 11:15
Morning Break

Live scanning

12:00 – 12:45
Peroneal tendon assessment.

12:45 – 1:30
Lunch

1:30 – 2:00
Medial ankle tendon assessment and detailed scanning of the deltoid ligament complex and spring ligament.

2:00 – 2:15
Plantar fascia assessment including intrinsic muscle assessment and the knot of Henry. Ankle and foot neural assessment.

2:15 – 2:45
Live scanning

2:45 – 3:00
Afternoon Break

3:00 – 3:30
Medial calf and Achilles tendon assessment.

3:30 – 4:30
Assessment of metatarsalgia.

4:30 – 5:00
Live scanning

Didactic approach and course materials

The course consists of lectures and live demonstrations. To optimize our limited time with Stephen there will be no hands-on sessions. 
The course materials will not be shared in print of PDF since these are the intellectual property of Stephen.
